Laurel Berry Oil for Aleppo Soap Making
The most common use for wholesale laurel berry oil is authentic Aleppo soap production. The laurel percentage determines the soap's character — from gentle daily bars to high-laurel-content traditional grades.
Traditional Aleppo soap requires authentic water-extracted laurel berry oil — not the essential oil, and not cold-pressed versions. Sourcing direct from the manufacturer (not a reseller) means verified extraction method, batch documentation, and consistent oil characteristics for your formulation.
| Laurel % | Grade | Bar Properties | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5% | Gentle Daily Use | Mild creamy lather, hard bar, subtle scent | Sensitive skin, facial bars, daily cleansing |
| 10% | Most Popular | Balanced lather, good hardness, pleasant aroma | All-purpose, retail, general distribution |
| 20% | Premium Grade | Richer lather and a more pronounced traditional laurel profile | Premium product lines, specialty soap formulations |
| 40% | High-Laurel / Professional | Highest laurel content, distinctive characteristic aroma | Shampoo bars and traditional high-laurel personal care soap formulations |

INCI: Laurus Nobilis Fruit Oil
Water-Extracted. Not Cold-Pressed. Not Essential Oil.
Authentic laurel berry oil is produced by traditional water-extraction: berries are boiled in large cauldrons, the oil rises to the surface and is carefully skimmed off. This is the method used for centuries in Hatay, Turkey — and it is the only method that produces the oil used in authentic Aleppo soap.
Cold-pressed claims you may find elsewhere are often inaccurate for this product. Laurel berry oil is a fixed berry oil whose lauric-rich fatty acid profile — visible on our published COA data — is characteristic of water/heat extraction, not cold pressing.
Laurel LEAF essential oil (steam distilled from leaves) is a completely different product. It will not saponify, cannot be used as a base oil, and will not make Aleppo soap. Verify your supplier's extraction method before ordering.
